Protecting Your Cable Covers From Pets and Vice Versa

Like the above title states since we’ve invested in our cable covers we want to make sure that we protect that investment. That includes safeguarding it from variables in our household like our dears pets. Don’t get us wrong there’s absolutely nothing wrong with pets but circumstances dictate that we take caution with a cabled area when our furry friends are involved.

We all know that our faithful feline and canine friends will match our footsteps to nearly every point of our house and that’s including our computer area. Now as much as you love Fluffy or Fido you’ll want to protect both the pets and your computer area such as the brand new cable covers you installed. After all it’s in both sides’ best interests to ensure there’s protection from one another.

What danger could a cat or dog possibly pose to a cable cover? Well, actually they can do quite a lot whether it’s their intention to or not. After all pardon the phrase “curiosity killed the cat” but it’s definitely a justifiable expression. Cats are an inquisitive and daring breed of animal. Your cable covers may look like one giant ball of yarn to our sleek little friend. However, what kitty doesn’t realize is that serious consequences could be suffered by this misconception.

For our canine pals they’re just as susceptible to curiosity. Being a typically carefree and fun loving animal a dog with good intentions may want your attention and destroying your cable cover may be the way he or she does it. Like the cat, repercussions are also subject to man’s best friend.

Ensuring that your pets keep a safe distance from your cable covers is for the best. It’s important to keep your cable cover area safe but also you don’t want anything to happen to your pets either. Some scary things could occur if they’re given free reign to run amok through your computer area.

So what do we do to ensure that we can make this happen? The first and best method is to limit or completely restrict access to your cable covers from your pets. If they don’t know about the location then there’s no incentive for them to enter it.

Do what you can to keep the area as unappealing as possible. This may be harder with cats and smaller dogs because they are much lighter on their feet and can reach areas a lot easier than larger dogs. If the area looks uninteresting to the animal though they’ll be less than likely to try to see what’s going on.

Food is another thing to be concerned about if there’s anything our pets love doing it’s eating anything in sight…ANYTHING. If you’re limited to where you can have a setup that uses cables covers be sure not leave open food containers even if they’re empty in the surrounding area. Once your pets get a wiff of or see something they’re going to enquire as to what it is.

It’s the nature of the beast; pardon the less than funny pun. With all kidding aside a situation like this could be a catalyst puts your pet’s safety into jeopardy. In a multi-tasking society it may be a little easier said then done to not eat in front of the computer when doing any work or communication.

Keep these suggestions in mind though because safety is indeed paramount. After all your hard work in putting together your computer area you want to make sure that you’re indeed doing your best in protecting your cable covers from pets and vice versa.
